Young Inspectors

Are you aged 13-25 years?

Become a Young Inspector and make a difference!

A Young Inspector is a volunteer aged between 13-19 and up to 25+ with SEN who will inspect services that impact children, young people and their families within Slough.

As a Young Inspector you will:

  • take part in training
  • be contacted, before each inspection, to find out if you are available to be involved and asked to attend a planning meeting where the scope of the inspection and your role will be agreed
  • carry out your agreed role on the day/s of the inspection
  • attend a feedback meeting, when the inspection is complete, where you will discuss your findings and how to present your inspection results
  • not be asked to do anything you are uncomfortable with.

The Young Inspectors programme is totally voluntary so you choose which inspections you get involved in and how.

The Young Inspectors programme provides an opportunity to:

  • improve your confidence and self esteem
  • learn new skills around communication, problem solving, information gathering and presentations
  • make a positive difference to other young people in Slough
  • make new friends,
  • meet new people ranging from young people to senior directors
  • training in inspection techniques
  • volunteer accreditations
