Amanda Lumley - Childminder

Amanda has been a registered childminder since 1998. She has three grown up children and young grandchildren.

Childminding takes place at a 4 bedroom house, in a quiet cul-de-sac in Langley on the outskirts of Slough, about 1 mile from both Langley railway station and the M4. There is a medium sized, fully enclosed and safe garden. It is a non-smoking household and there are no animals.

Amanda is a driver with a 7 seat car. Her car insurance covers her childminding business and she also has a full range of age appropriate car seats.

She offers high quality care where children learn through play and interaction with others, and she implements the Early Years Foundation Stage guidelines as required by Ofsted regulations. At her last inspection in May 2017 she was awarded an overall grade of "Good".

Her setting has a safe, happy and relaxed atmosphere where children feel home from home. Children have access to all rooms downstairs. There is a quiet area,upstairs, used for sleeping.

Amanda has a large selection of toys and equipment for play, lots of drawing and craft materials, including play doh. In the garden there is:

• a wooden play house with play kitchen and a picnic table
• a toddler slide
• several ride-on toys.

Amanada also:

• has Little Tykes cars and a full size mounted Brio train set
• attends a local toddler group on Fridays during term time, as well as the local library. There is a park with well-equipped playground close by
• reads books and sings with the children daily
• takes children on visits to a farm or indoor adventure playground or they go and feed the ducks.

Amanda tries to make everything she does a fun and enjoyable experience for the children whether it is a planned activity specifically for them or even a walk to the post box or the shop.

Her hourly rate is fully inclusive of everything except nappies and special baby foods, and there are no extra charges.

If a vacancy exists and she is booked in advance she will charge a small holding fee.

Amanda has several reference letters from previous parents and many previous and current parents are happy to be contacted regarding her service.

Amanda is registered for tax free childcare and for the free 15 and 30 hour provision.
