The effect of the public health coronavirus crisis means that we are having to stay in our homes so life has drastically changed for all of us. However staying in our homes day by day can cause stress and anxiety for those who are at risk of domestic abuse.

If you are at risk of domestic abuse there is help and support available to you. For anyone who feels they are at risk of abuse, it is important to remember that there is help. Please don't suffer alone.

  • For help call the National Domestic Abuse Helpline free 24 hour helpline 0808 2000 247
  • Call 999 in an emergency
  • Silent Solution for domestic violence - Threatended and need police assistance but unable to speak? Police help is available 24/7 - Call 999, listen to the questions from the 999 operator, respond by coughing or tapping the handset if you can, listen for the prompt then PRESS 55. (Pressing 55 when prompted lets the 999 call operator know it is a genuine emergency and you will be put through to the police.)
  • Contact Hestia - For help and support, Hestia will be providing a specialist domestic abuse service in Slough, including outreach support for individuals across East Berkshire. This service will provide practical and emotional support to women, men and children who are victims of domestic abuse. Hestia opening hours are Monday – Friday, 9am - 5pm.
