ORCHYD - holidays for children with disabilities

ORCHYD is a registered charity which provides an annual residential holiday for children with disabilities. We aim to produce an unforgettable ten Days in August for twenty children from around the UK.
It was initially set up in 1971 when a collection of like-minded people from the Ruislip Christian Council and the charity Scope got together to organise and run a holiday for children with physical disabilities based in Ruislip, West London. Although a lot has changed in the last four decades - Scope are no longer involved, DBS checks are imposed and we have our own minibuses - the core purpose is the same; to provide an amazing ten-day holiday for twenty children with physical disabilities. In recent years, ORCHYD have expanded and have hosted several weekends, one of which was to Disneyland Paris! ORCHYD now also run three day trips every year for small groups of children.
