Baby Bank Windsor

Baby Bank was set up by two Windsor mums.

They collect good quality:

  • secondhand clothes
  • equipment
  • furniture

and gift it to families in extreme need within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Berkshire and surrounding areas.

Inspired by Finland’s baby boxes and the trend for a baby shower celebration, they can provide expectant mums with a newborn starter kit. This includes:

  • toiletries for mother and baby
  • baby clothes
  • bedding
  • nappies
  • wipes and cotton wool

all packed into a Moses basket and baby bath.

They also:

  • hold a store of baby items such as cots, pushchairs, bottles and slings which are given out on specific requests from referring agencies
  • provide bundles of baby and toddler clothes from birth to five years and maternity/nursing clothing for expectant and breastfeeding mothers.

From time to time they may have a surplus of some items and a deficit of others. If this occurs, they hold a table top sale or use their Facebook page to raise funds to purchase essential items.

Access to Baby Bank Windsor is based on third party referral by agencies such as community midwives, health visitors and family support workers. This ensures that help is given to families in extreme need who live in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and surrounding areas.
