Camp Mohawk (SEND Family Centre) - Short Breaks
Camp Mohawk is a multi-functional day centre for children with special needs, set in 5 acres of beautiful countryside, just outside Wargrave, Berkshire. The centre is open to families in school holidays and provides a range of indoor and outdoor activities, facilities and natural space to encourage children with a variety of special needs to play, socialise and learn in a secure and caring environment.
We provide the children and young people with stimulating workshops, sensory and social activities that are led by experienced enthusiastic staff and carefully designed to address the common developmental requirements of children with special needs.
Families need to register to use our services. Facilities include soft play and sensory rooms, various activity rooms, full disabled bathroom facilities including mobile hoist, outdoor adventure play, swings, sensory garden, imaginative play spaces, picnic areas, and an outdoor, heated pool (open May to September).
Camp Mohawk is open to families, groups and schools throughout the year. Most sessions are 'stay and play' for families but we do have a limited respite programme specifically for children and young people (8 to 25 years) with High Functioning Austim. An informal assessment is required to access this programme and there is often a waiting list for spaces. Please make contact before planning a visit of any kind.
