Family support and learning - Romsey Close Children's Centre
Meeting the needs of your child and the other demands of family life can sometimes feel stressful and demanding. At Slough Children's Centres we offer support to pregnant mums and parents of newborn babies through to when their child starts school.
Our trained and experienced team of Family Services Officers provides confidential one to one support at times when you need it the most in a friendly and non-judgmental environment. They can offer advice and information about a range of issues including debt, relationship breakdown, mental and physical health, housing and employment. Visits can be arranged in your home and support provided at meetings you may have with other professionals in order to help you and your family move forward. They can put you in touch with a range of other services, apply for grants if you are in a crisis and offer practical help and support.
We also have a creative team of Family Service Practitioners who are experienced in helping parents to engage and interact with their children and to facilitate learning. They deliver a programme of stimulating activities for you and your child to attend including baby massage, managing challenging behaviour, toilet training and healthy eating. Regular Stay and Play sessions take place across Slough and for those who prefer a smaller group, targeted Play and Learn sessions are provided to give you the time and space to develop your confidence before attending other groups.
There are Family Services Officers and Practitioners at each of our 10 Children's Centres. Please call your local Children's Centre if you need support and advice or to discuss attending any of the family learning sessions.
