Active Slough
Active Slough offers a programme of sport and physical activity!
Whatever your age or ability, there’s something for you.
Active Slough works to make physical activity an easy, practical, attractive choice, especially for:
- women and girls
- people with disabilities
- those with less income.
We support local sports clubs, organisations and groups to deliver sport and physical activities for all ages.
Activities include:
- football
- dance
- yoga
- seated exercises
- boxercise
- cricket and many more.

Leisure & sports facilities
Slough has a range of exciting and varied leisure facilities.
- Slough Ice Arena offers lots of options to learn to skate or play ice hockey. There is also a Clip 'n Climb wall with 13 possible routes, a climbing wall and a well equipped 25 station gym.
- Langley Leisure Centre has a gym with state-of-the-art equipment, swimming pools for aquatic activities and swimming lessons, fitness classes, a spa pool and steam room.
- You can enjoy ten pin bowling at Salt Hill Activity Centre which also has a trampolining park with light chase game and battle pits, escape rooms, virtual reality arcade, golf simulator and large soft play area.
- The Centre has a huge 115 station gym, an eight-lane, 25-metre swimming pool for swimming lessons and a four-court sports hall to help your child have fun and get active.
Slough also has a number of outdoor gyms in parks and recreation grounds where you can enjoy the great outdoors and get fit at the same time!

Walking and cycling
Walking and cycling are ideal to keep you fit and to get to school, shops and visit friends and relatives.
Parks and green spaces
Slough has 76 outdoor playgrounds and play areas with plenty of opportunities to enjoy the play facilities in the green spaces.
Slough Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme
The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme provides free enjoyable activities and nutritious meals for primary and secondary school aged children who are in receipt of benefits related free school meals.
You will be able to access:
- 4 sessions (4 hours per session) a week during Easter and Christmas and
- 4 sessions (4 hours per session) for 4 weeks during the summer holidays.
All activities are inclusive at no cost to you. The sessions will include a variety of fun activities, including sports, music, arts, hairdressing, robotics, and other exciting opportunities to learn and develop skills, alongside a nutritious meal each day.
Letters will be sent out to all families with eligible children with a unique code for each child to use. Parents would need to contact their preferred providers directly to book a place.
