Schools group work offer

The council's Community and Detached Youth Work Team are a team of dedicated, professional youth workers.

The team offers group work projects to build positive relationships with young people.

The project:

  • is aimed at young people who need support to prevent escalation in their behaviours
  • involves informal activities and discussion
  • carries no charge.

Your School can request a session by completing the Schools Group Work Offer online form. A member of the team will contact you for further discussion.

Projects offered are listed below. Bespoke projects can also be offered.

  • Lives not knives (knife crime)
  • Street smart (antisocial behaviour out of school)
  • Emotional first aid - anger (skills to manage anger)
  • Emotional first aid - anxiety (skills to manage day-to-day life)
  • Respectful relationships (exploitation and unhealthy relationships)
  • Digital dangers (online safety)
  • My body, my choice (sexual health, consent, decision making, staying safe)
  • Think smart (peer pressure and risky behaviour)
  • Deal or no deal (using and selling drugs)
  • Drink aware (using alcohol)
  • BeYOUtiful (self-esteem and confidence).
