From September 2014 local authorities are required to publish information online about services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) aged 0-25. This is the SEN Local Offer.
The Local Offer contains information about Education, Health and Social Care services that are available in Slough for children, young people with SEND and their families. The Local Offer website has Browse Aloud to read webpages, enlarge text, convert text into an MP3, blocks distractions on screen with a tinted mask and customise options to suit individual needs or preferences. Google Translator and Browse Aloud translate and read the webpages.
For people who do not have access to internet, the Local Offer information can be found in a number of other ways. The Family Information Service offers a 9am -5pm telephone service on 01753 476589 and we can post or email the required information. You can speak to us at our regular outreach sessions which are held in the community venues such as libraries or schools. The Local Offer can be viewed on line at your local library.

Slough’s Local Offer provides, in a single website, information for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and their families. The Local Offer will give information and advice about education, health, social care and other services in Slough. It also has information about services that are available in neighbouring areas or nationally.
The Local Offer has been developed with parents and carers and other services such as schools, health and local agencies.
The Local Offer will continue to grow and develop over time to include any changes to services or any new services. We welcome any ideas on how we can improve or add to the website, you can do this by contacting us by using the Contact Us button at the top of this page or you can email FIS@slough.gov.uk or call 01753 476589.
The local offer is also a resource for professionals to help them understand the range of services and provision within the Slough area.

Service records that have additional Local Offer information are identified by the KITE symbol in the top right hand corner of the record. Service providers have been asked to be very clear in the information they provide so that you can see if they are relevant to you.

It may be that there isn’t a local service that meets your need directly. There maybe a service in a neighbouring area that you can use or there may be a national organisation that can help. Part of the purpose of the Local Offer is to highlight what services are needed in the area. We will use the information you provide to help us plan, monitor and develop appropriate facilities and services for disabled children and their families.
