The following charities and trusts offer funding towards the high cost of disability equipment, holidays, housing, days out.

  • The Disabled Facilities Grant helps you adapt your home to make it suitable for a disabled person. Check eligibility and apply for the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) on Slough Borough Council website
  • Family Fund can give grants for essential items such as kitchen appliances, sensory toys, family breaks, bedding, tablets and computers, furniture, and clothing to families with children who have disabilities or who are seriously ill.
  • The Elifar Foundation funds specialised equipment such as wheelchairs, trikes, seats and sensory equipment for children with any form of physical or learning disability.
  • Lifeline4Kids provide equipment to help improve the quality of life for children with disabilities and special needs.
  • Newlife funds vital specialist equipment such as beds, buggies, wheelchairs. A professional needs to support your application.
  • Sunny Days Children's Fund supports children under 18 years with a range of medical conditions. This includes leukaemia, cerebral palsy, the deaf and blind, terminal and life limiting conditions. It is able to make small grants for day trips, medical equipment, respite, hospital travel, white goods, IT equipment (not iPads) and children's last wishes. The charity also has two holiday homes at Haven Orchard's Holiday Park, Clacton-on-sea, Essex.
  • Variety offers a broad range of specialist equipment including hoists, beds, car seats, sensory and play equipment, assistive and medical technologies.
