Help during the EHC plan process (parents, carers - SEND)
The Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan request and needs assessment can be complicated.
The following organisations can give you guidance, advice and practical support, for example, to help to fill in forms.
- Slough SENDIASS offer impartial, confidential, free advice and support throughout the EHC assessment and planning process.
- ACE (Advisory Centre for Education) offer independent, practical advice and information on state education in England.
- Council for Disabled Children have an EHCP advice section on their website, which includes resources including good practice examples.
- IPSEA (Independent Providers of Special Education Advice) offer an information service that provides information on the law relating to special educational needs and disability. They run an advice line and a Tribunal helpline, which gives free and independent, legally based SEN advice.
- Contact offer a free helpline with education specialist advisors who can advise you on any aspect of your child's education.
