SEND parenting courses
There are specialist courses and workshops to help you support your child with SEND.
- GEMS provides training to support to parents and carers of children with autism or who may have autism and ADHD.
- Parenting Special Children offers courses and workshops for families of children and young people with special needs for parent/carers both pre - and post-assessment.
- Witherslack Group organises free webinars on Autism, EHCP, ADHD and Mental Health.
- Independent Provider of Special Educational Advice (IPSEA) provides training for parents on SEND laws.
If you are looking for additional support there are other services that can help.
- Special Voices provide information, support and guidance, events and coffee days with regular speakers on issues raised by parent/carers. Meet other families for friendship and networking. Attend forums and receive information and newsletters.
- Contact offer a free helpline for parents and carers to call to discuss a particular diagnosis, educational support and medical and social care.
- If you are concerned that your child is feeling very anxious, or depressed you can call YoungMinds for advice about how best to support them.
- NAS Parent to Parent Service is a confidential telephone service provided by trained volunteers who are parents themselves of a child or adult on the autism spectrum.
