Private fostering

Are you aware of a child or young person who’s being looked after by someone who isn’t their parent or close relative?

If so, this could be a private fostering arrangement and your local authority needs to be notified.

Private fostering is when a child is living with someone other than a close relative for 28 days or more.

This is for all children up to the age of 16, or 18 if they have a disability.

For advice and support or to notify Slough Children First of a private fostering arrangement, please:

Parenting support online - Solihull Approach

New modules have been added to the Solihull Programme:

  • Understanding your own trauma
  • Understanding your relationships
  • Child’s feelings
  • Impact of pandemic
  • Preterm baby

They are also available in some community languages, and are FREE to Slough residents.

Professionals are encouraged to sign up to get a better understanding of the courses to promote it to families (if you don’t live in Slough use your setting postcode)
