Early Help champions (professionals)

Our vision is for ‘Children and young people feel happy, safe and loved within their families and wider community, where they are helped to thrive, not just survive’.

Our Early Help Champions:

  • promote the key principles that underpin Slough’s Early Help Partnership Strategy and
  • work in collaboration

with a key focus on delivering the Lead Professional role for children, young people and families in the community.

Direct accessibility for children, young people and families to support services across the partnership from universal to targeted support is crucial in empowering and enabling stronger families and communities in Slough.

Our early help offer will:

  • lead to better life chances for children, young people and families
  • reduce the demand on statutory intervention over time.

Everyone needs some extra help sometimes, and we want to make sure that families can seek support without fear or challenge.

As an Early Help champion you will:

  • promote our Early Help approach across all partner agencies
  • develop the skills and knowledge needed as a Lead Professional
  • share practice, challenges and solutions, to support a robust ‘Team Around’ approach
  • work together with other professionals to co-ordinate best use of resources and build multi-agency networks
  • support the partnership to be increasingly proactive when meeting the needs of children, young people and families early
  • build resilience as part of the multi-agency workforce, in order to best meet the needs of children, young people and families
  • have your say in the development of services to meet the needs of children, young people and families and influence strategic priorities.
