Slough Immigration Aid Unit
Slough Immigration Aid Unit (SIAU) is a charity giving specialist legal advice and representation in all areas of UK immigration, refugee and nationality law. SIAU is a registered charity and is regulated by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner.
We provide legal advice, assistance and representation to people who live, work or study in Slough and neighbouring areas, and their families, who have difficulties with UK immigration, nationality or refugee law. We also advise on the rights of EEA nationals and their families.
SIAU sees people by appointment in our office, and may also be able to advise, or provide information, over the phone, or by email.
SIAU provides a free service to people on low income and who would have qualified financially for Legal Help (previously known as Legal Aid). Most immigration law matters were taken out of the scope of Legal Help in April 2013. Where people’s income or savings are too high to qualify for Legal Help, we work on a cost recovery basis, meaning we charge a fee to cover our costs for representation only; we do not make any profit. We aim to provide a competent, well-informed and friendly advice service.
