Disagreements about SEN provision

To resolve disagreements about any aspect of SEN provision whether the EHC process is happening or not, you may want to approach a disagreement resolution service.

These services are available to all parents and young people to resolve disagreements about any aspect of SEN provision.

In Slough, the mediation and disagreement resolution service is provided by Global Mediation. Email sen@globalmediation.co.uk, call 0800 064 4488.

Appeal to the SEND Tribunal

If you want to appeal your case to the SEND Tribunal then you must first consider mediation and contact a mediation adviser before registering your appeal with the SEND Tribunal.

You can:

If your child is excluded

When a pupil is excluded from school it can be difficult to know where to get advice and support, and to know what they should do next.

Headteachers can exclude your child if they misbehave in or outside school.

Exclusion should only be used as a last resort when the headteacher feels that allowing the pupil to remain in school would seriously harm the education or welfare of the pupil or others in the school.

Your child’s school will let you know about an exclusion, usually on the same day. They’ll follow up with a letter telling you how long your child is excluded for and why. You should also be told how to challenge the exclusion, if you want to.
